33rd Street Band was formed in 2003. We are an extremely versatile group that specializes in performing the timeless music of the great horn bands of many genres. We do classic rock from Chicago, Blood Sweat & Tears, Van Morrison, The Ides of March, Santana, and much more including some very interesting interpretations with horns added to ZZ Top and Jimi Hendrix. We do a wide variety of Motown and Soul from the likes of Stevie Wonder, Wilson Pickett, Sam and Dave, The Temptations, Bill Withers, Tower of Power, Cold Blood, and more. We do a good variety of jazz and blues. We do a couple of tribute acts. They include a complete Blues Brothers show, where we occasionally team up the The Soul Men from Cleveland, OH (www.thesoulmen.com), and a Ray Charles show with Canadian tribute artist Frank Rondell (raycharlestributeshow.com/). We have performed in a huge variety of public and private events all over the midwest and as far away as the West coast. We are equally effective as both a dance band and a concert band, or even to provide cocktail hour music. 33rd Street Band cannot be put in a small box and be called "a blues band" or "a Motown band". We provide the variety like you see with the NBC orchestra on The Tonight Show. |
